Today we have the day off. Yay! I have developed a minor cold the last few days, so a day off is exactly what I need. We are all being loaded into a bus and taken to Frank's, a restuarant on the beach just outside of Subic. Frank is a 'real' triathlete from back in the day. He used to race against Mark Allen and the boys. Interesting guy...Things have been going well here lately, other than the illness. My new bike is great! I don't have the Oval Concepts handlebars yet, but the ones I have will do for now. It is a dream to ride and I just want to ride it all the time. But I am sure that Doc will be able to cure me of that soon... My running and swimming feel great too, which is not surprising as that is all I did for almost two weeks!
Manny, Keegan and I have started playing poker at home to pass the time between sessions - you can only watch so much cable TV! None of us are any good at it, but we will hone our skills on eachother before inviting the rest of the group around for a Texas Hold 'em tournament where we can take their money from them! ;)
The weather continues to be hot and humid, and actually seems to get hotter and more humid by the day! Maybe just my perception, but they did warn us that it would. My tan is already something extraordinary. I have never been this dark before!
Good beach weather though - so I'm heading there now!
