Philippines day 17 (I think?) - Very tired!

The training continues to pick up and the fatigue levels follow suit. Doc is really pushing us and even the old hands have said that they are finding the going a bit tougher this time. That is a relief - I thought it was just me! My own training is going well though and I have had no problems. I can already feel the improvements, which is great.
It is amazing how it can fill your day though. The time spent in doing nothing decreases dramatically as the training time and subsequent sleep/rest time increases. Now we pretty much are eating, sleeping or training around the clock. We haven't even got the energy to play poker at the moment as we all just want to collapse between sessions. Guess this is what it takes...

Other than the training, Alex (team manager) arrived here yesterday and once again ran through the business plan and team structure, etc. It is good to get a look at what is actually going on behind the scenes and very exciting to be part of all of it. This team is going to change the world of triathlon in many ways and it is great to be one of the cogs in the engine. Watch this space - big things!
This evening was a dinner for the local municipality to meet the team. There was not much in the way of formalities, but we had some interesting local dishes and a chance to sit aroud and chat socially, which was good.

We had another visit from the monkeys today too. Manny came into the apartment to the sound of screaming and freaked out a bit. He thought the monkeys must be in the kitchen as two were on the balcony hissing and showing teeth at him. He peered around the corner but there was nothing in the kitchen. The screeching continued though... He then plucked up the courage to look on the balcony and behind the curtain, stuck with its head and one arm through the sliding door, there was a screeching monkey that was, well... going ape!
Just another day in the Philippines...
